Meet the Founders of ShopA-List.com

ShopA-List.com was founded by two young women, Amanda Woodstrom and Alicia Madsen, who are making their mark in the world of fashion by combining their love of music, movies, theater, concerts and dance, with their passion for celebrity style and keen eye for trend-watching. The result is a sparkling combination of fun and fashion where customers can not only find themselves wearing the same designer clothing of their favorite artists and stars, but also find their pictures alongside those of their celebrity counterparts.

Amanda Woodstrom

Amanda started out in the fashion world working in organic cosmetic and skincare as a manager with Gabriel Cosmetics. She also worked as a trainer and manager at Gene Juarez, a leading Pacific Northwest salon and spa (where she met Alicia), and she completed university-level business and fashion coursework that told her she had a talent for finding great values. With business partner, Alicia, Amanda shares a passion for shopping, celebrity news and gossip and a multi-faceted social life. "Our escape from our busy lives has always been shopping," she remarks.  "A-list came from our own obsession with celebrity style and culture. Everyone wants to be on the A-list and now they can. Plus our names both start with an A!"

According to Amanda, "A-List.com is designed to fill a growing demand for the latest designer apparel online, without sacrificing the personal service distinctive of offline boutiques. We personally have found shopping online to be convenient, but lacking in personality and the customer service we've always enjoyed in exclusive boutiques. With this in mind, it's our goal at A-List.com to create a modern shopping experience combining technology, the latest designer clothes and five star customer service."

Alicia Madsen

Alicia  was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. After college, she went to work with the renowned Gene Juarez Salons and Spa where she managed the salon's online sales.  It was in April of 2006, on a fashion buying spree in Los Angeles with Amanda, that the two started thinking about opening an online boutique.  "We wanted to use the power and reach of the Internet to make it easy for young women like us to get their hands on the latest styles and trends no matter where they lived," she recounts.

"We also wanted to be the place that people can go to find a fresh, new and exciting look that they like, and that makes a statement about them," says Alicia, "where they know that their friend isn’t going to be wearing the exact same thing. "

"Our goal is to treat our customers like our friends so that together we can  create a Website experience and a shopping experience that is fun and fashionable.  Hard to find designers are our specialty. Designers, sizes and styles  -- all are areas that our customers can have a voice in and we want to hear from them again and again."
